When I say I LOVE breakfast food I’m meaning like, do we even need other foods? (Jk Cheeseburger I love you too!)
French toast is a classic breakfast dish. Here’s 5 ways to mix it up!
1. Classic
Whisk a couple of eggs. Add a splash of milk. Dip that bread. Cook in a greased skillet until golden and perfect. Add some powdered sugar and syrup to top off this delicious classic breakfast.
2. Cinnamon Sugar
For a sweet twist on French toast try this! Make classic French toast but once it’s cooked cover it with this tasty spread!
3. Cookie Butter
This is my favorite way to eat French toast! Just like #2 except use cookie butter! I also add some syrup but that’s definitely optional!
4. Captain Crunch French Toast
This is a special treat at our house! I usually make it for special occasion breakfasts!
To make it simply whisk 3-4 eggs and a splash of milk with about 1tsp of vanilla. Then in a bag crush half a box of Captain Crunch (the regular one with berries!)
Dip bread in the egg mixture then the crushed cereal. Cook in a greased skillet until golden!
We top with whipped cream or powdered sugar!
5. Rolled French Toast
This one takes a bit more work but has endless possibilities. To make rolled French toast make your egg mixture as above. Cut the crust off your piece of bread and roll it with a rolling pin. Then add whatever filling you’d like. I’ve done Nutella and fresh strawberries. You could also do cream cheese/sugar. Try cookie butter, cinnamon spread, or any type of berries, etc!
Roll up your bread with filling and then dip in egg mixture. Then cook in a greased skillet until golden brown all around!
